Spectators Welcome
You don’t have to run to participate in the fun!
The races are spectator friendly, with live music and an opportunity for a personal best at both distances. The marathon features a double loop section along the newly added River Arts District Greenway and along the French Broad River.
Spectators can attend the race and provide their own transportation, or they can purchase shuttle tickets for $20 online in the Race Store or at the race expo.

Spectator Tips: Best Spot to Watch
We encourage spectators to line the course around the start and finish lines at Pack Square Park and the Wedge at Foundation. Runners will also be running along Lyman Street out and back, which has plenty of parking along the street!
While you’re there, Volunteer!
Volunteers and spectators are some of the most important people in the Asheville Marathon & Half on race day! Family and friends are encouraged to volunteer at the event to see your family member up-close and personal during the event! Seize the opportunities to volunteer at this event to come and check it out or do a little extra if you are racing this weekend. We take good care of our volunteers with food, drinks, and a comfy volunteer t-shirt.
