Community INFO

The Asheville Marathon & Half is more than a race—it’s a reflection of the strength, commitment, and shared pride that define our community. Every runner on the course has spent months training for this moment, showing up with intention to accomplish something meaningful. With fewer than 1% of people ever completing an endurance race, this day represents a significant personal milestone for many participants.

The event’s impact extends well beyond race day. It brings visitors back to Asheville, supports local businesses, and highlights the energy and vibrancy that continue to shape our city. We’re grateful to be part of that ongoing story and to host an event that celebrates movement, connection, and community spirit. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, planning ahead for race weekend, or simply navigating the day, thank you for being part of what makes Asheville such a special place.

After the Race | Plogging Event | Sunday, March 22

We love our Asheville neighborhoods, and after race day, we want to make sure they look even better than before! That’s why we’re hosting a plogging event—a fun mix of jogging (or walking!) while picking up litter along the marathon course. This is our way of giving back to the community and ensuring we leave no trace behind. You don't have to be a race participant to join. We welcome anyone who just wants to come out and do some good for our community.

Economic Impact

The New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half isn’t just a Saturday morning race—it’s a significant economic boost for our community, generating $1.2 million for the local economy over the course of the weekend. Runners and their supporters travel from near and far, filling local hotels, dining at restaurants, and shopping at local businesses.

As a locally operated organization, iDaph Events has been part of the WNC community since 2011. Our dedicated team calls this place home, and we’re passionate about creating events that not only inspire people to move but also support the local economy and showcase the beauty of our region.

Supporting Community Heroes

The New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half is proud to give back to a non-profit organization that supported our community when we needed it most. United Way of Asheville & Buncombe County worked tirelessly as we recovered from Hurricane Helene and will also be volunteering before, during, and after race day to keep things running smoothly—all while raising funds for their important causes.
