Community INFO
The Asheville Marathon & Half is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of resilience, community, and the spirit of Asheville. Every runner on the course has spent months training for this moment, pushing their limits to accomplish something extraordinary. With fewer than 1% of people ever completing an endurance race, this is a life-changing achievement for so many.
But the impact goes beyond the runners—this event brings energy, excitement, and a much-needed economic boost to local businesses at a critical time. We believe the Asheville Marathon is part of our city’s comeback story, and we invite you to be part of it. Whether you’re cheering on participants, planning ahead for race day, or simply embracing the vibrancy this event brings, we appreciate you being part of what makes Asheville such a special place!

After the Race | Plogging Event | Sunday, March 16
We love our Asheville neighborhoods, and after race day, we want to make sure they look even better than before! That’s why we’re hosting a plogging event—a fun mix of jogging (or walking!) while picking up litter along the marathon course. This is our way of giving back to the community and ensuring we leave no trace behind. You don't have to be a race participant to join. We welcome anyone who just wants to come out and do some good for our community.
Economic Impact
The New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half isn’t just a Saturday morning race—it’s a significant economic boost for our community, generating $1.2 million for the local economy over the course of the weekend. Runners and their supporters travel from near and far, filling local hotels, dining at restaurants, and shopping at local businesses.
As a locally operated organization, iDaph Events has been part of the WNC community since 2011. Our dedicated team calls this place home, and we’re passionate about creating events that not only inspire people to move but also support the local economy and showcase the beauty of our region.
Attention Local Business Owners!
The Asheville Marathon & Half brings over 2,000 runners (plus their families and friends!) to our area, and we’d love to help connect them with your business. We’re inviting local restaurants, shops, and businesses in Asheville, Montford, and RAD to offer a special discount or promotion to runners on race weekend—just by showing their race bib! If you’d like to participate, send us your business name, a link to your location, and the discount by Wednesday, March 5th, at NOON, and we’ll include it on our runner resource page and in the event guide. Please send information to support@idaph.net.
Supporting Local Heroes
The New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half is proud to give back to the local non-profit organizations that supported our community when we needed it most. These groups worked tirelessly as we recovered from Hurricane Helene and will also be volunteering before, during, and after race day to keep things running smoothly—all while raising funds for their important causes.
