Directions & Transportation

Things to know regarding event day transportation:

The start of the race is several miles from the entrance of Biltmore Estate, in Antler Hill Village, so you will need to either drive or take a shuttle to the start line. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes to get to the race start from the front entrance of the Biltmore Estate, with minimal traffic.

Please carpool if you can, it’s good for the environment and you can share in the pre-race anticipation, and it will help make race day parking run a whole lot smoother. You can also purchase a shuttle pass on imathlete and pick up a ride to and from the start/finish line for extra convenience and piece of mind.

Register for a Shuttle Bus!

Every Shuttle Bus location will take you to the start line! Once you have registered for a location, you only need your Race Bib to hop onboard. Buses run from 5am to 7am, must be in line by 6am.

If you have already registered for the Asheville Marathon & Half, but are unsure if you chose a Shuttle Bus location, please contact us by email at events@idaph.net.

Those staying in one of our race partner hotels will get complimentary shuttles to and from the start/finish line. You will receive your shuttle pass when you check-in. Your shuttle can be boarded either at the Hilton Hotel Biltmore Park or the Double Tree Hotel. Runners must stay in an Asheville Marathon ‘Room Block’ with one of our ‘partner hotels’ to get a shuttle ticket included with their stay.

For local runners or those not staying in one of our race hotels, we now have VIP Race Day Shuttle Transportation Service to take you to the start line and pick you up at the finish to take you back to your car. You can purchase a shuttle pass through imathlete, the online registration for the marathon, for $10. If you’ve already registered, you can go into your imathlete profile for the event and add a shuttle onto your registration. When selecting a location, choose from the Hilton Hotel Biltmore Park, the DoubleTree Hotel, or MAHEC. Shuttle tickets will be picked up at the race expo with your bib.

So, indulge in VIP service and help us eliminate as much congestion on the roads as possible on race morning. This is one way that we foresee this will make everyone’s experience getting to the start of the race better.
