Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, attention front and center, please: we have an announcement to make! The much anticipated inaugural Hunter Subaru – Asheville Marathon has had all registration slots filled. We are so proud to have so many on board with us for what is sure to be a whale of a ride! We feel it will bring both great times to competitors, friends, and families, as well as much needed revenues to the local Asheville and Western North Carolina economy in these tough financial times.
This exciting new sporting endeavor is highlighted by the beauty and majesty of Biltmore Estate, upon which the race will be ran. With complete access to the grounds of the estate, runners will get to experience all of the wonderful structures and landscapes of America’s largest backyard. These include, but are not limited to, Antler Hill Village, Deerpark Restaurant, the Biltmore House, the Walled Garden , Azalea Garden, the equestrian center, the lagoon paralleling the French Broad River, carriage trail roads, and working vineyards.
If you somehow missed the chance to sign up for this sure-fire awesomeness, all is not lost. There is a waitlist you can sign up for on the Asheville Marathon page at IMAthlete.com, though it DOES NOT guarantee entry into the race. The waitlist will be capped at 100 participants at all times, and you will be notified via email if there is a spot that opens up. On the same note we make an appeal to injured runners to cancel entries so that others on the waitlist may be afforded an opportunity to race.
With the waitlist possibility at hand, you should refrain from looking at the glass as half empty, even if the registration is all full.
