No need to adjust your screens or call the optometrist folks. You are indeed reading the caption correctly. iDaph founder and organizer Daphne Kirkwood is sending an invitation to all of the local Western North Carolina running community to join her for a little running and chatting at the Bent Creek Forest Area on Sunday, December 9th. You too can take in the splendid natural beauty offered here, all the while getting your questions answered by Daphne about the upcoming Hunter Subaru Asheville Marathon at Biltmore and other iDaph events, running in general, or whatever subject may come up. She’s even bringing Danny Dreyer from Chi Running along for the occasion!
On its 6,000 acres of Pisgah National Forest soil lays a network of trails and roads that have made it a favorite of local mountain bikers, hikers, and runners, including Daphne herself. It’s wide forest service roads with a mixture of gravel and dirt are perfect training grounds for the upcoming marathon at Biltmore Estate, says Kirkwood. will also be a great time to talk to Danny Dreyer from Chi Running about the best ways to put some spring in your running performance, all the while staying happy, healthy, and injury free. This is an opportunity to be among other avid runners like yourself who like nothing more than lacing up their kicks and taking off (or slipping on a pair of Vibrams, if that’s what floats your boat). Yes, it truly will be an occasion of, by, and for runners. Everyone will meet up at 8:30am at the Bent Creek parking area, available for use near the North Carolina Arboretum.
Be sure when you’re planning your upcoming workouts to schedule an easy day for Sunday, December 9th at Bent Creek with Daphne and others from the running community. Bring along your event questions, your great marathon ideas and stories to share. Don’t miss out on this chance to partake in the camaraderie and wealth of information Daphne, Chi Running and others like yourself have to share.
