Paul Laviska, proud Asheville Marthon & Half Ambassador knows how to train and relax all at once. His kids really wanted to play some golf, so that is exactly what they did.  While they golfed, he went on a few mile peaceful walk on the beach.  Just what the doctor ordered: a beautiful day.

But Paul doesn’t only play… as a member of the United States Track & Field Association, Paul earned this award for long distance running for 2013.  Yes, he is a Masters runner, and proud of it.  This award is categorized in three levels. Gold, Silver and Bronze.  In 2011, he earned a silver, and the last two years he got the Gold.

I have set a goal to run a combination of 13 Half and Full marathons in 2013. 13 in 13. My falls races include Bull City Rest Fear Half on 10/20, Hallowed Half on 10/27, City of Oaks Full on 11/3 and Rock n Roll Las Vegas Full 11/17. I did run the inaugural Asheville this year. The best part for me was it my first time ever to the Biltmore Estate, so running through some great history was a big deal. Mile 6 turning the corner for my first ever view of the house, incredible! I snapped a photo! Had to!
