Our FEATURED AMA OF THE WEEK:
Our thanks to Craig Lancaster, who is doing a great job as an official 2014 Asheville Marathon Ambassador (AMA)! His tweets, @clancaster0523 and hashtag #AvlMA, are chock full of interesting information and updates! Follow along with Craig as he shares his racing and training experiences while preparing for the 2014 Asheville Marathon at Biltmore Estate.
Delightful posts include: Eating caramel gelato with pretzels straight out of the container to celebrate achieving a record PR and his wife’s second place win in the 2013 Cherokee Harvest 5k! (Read the full blog post here); Sharing the view on a 16 mile run in the beautiful mountains around Asheville, NC is pretty interesting too. There’s way too many great posts to list! Go read them for yourself!
CRAIG LANCASTER
My Fall goals are a duathlon the weekend of October 12th and then the Cherokee 1/2 the next weekend, October 19th, where I’m hoping to get under 1:36. I am doing the Salem Lake 25k in January and the Uwharrie Mountain 20 Miler in February in preparation for the Asheville Marathon at Biltmore Estate. I’ll be getting my long training runs in at Bent Creek to get prepared for the race. My favorite part about the Inaugural Biltmore marathon was the course. It was tough, but beautiful. The long range view of the house on the west side of the estate about mile 14 or 15 was incredible!
