In September of 2012, She started training for a marathon… at 197 pounds. Depressed. Angry. Unhappy. Etc. By March of this 2013, she ran her first marathon. Not in her ideal time, but finishing at about 179 pounds was a huge win!

My fall races/goals were the Asheville Citizen-Times Half Marathon on 9/28/13 with a goal of beating 2:18:00 and I beat it with 2:17:09. I am also doing the Rock & Roll Las Vegas Marathon on 11/17/13 and had a goal of finishing in 4:59:59! My favorite part was running right by the Biltmore House (even though I’m a Pass Holder and frequent it often, nothing beats RUNNING by it!) and also crossing the finish line jamming to my favorite song by Old Crowe Medicine Show, “Wagon Wheel”. Something about that song pushes me hard.
