Originally from Hickory, NC, Mindy has now been a resident of Asheville for several years. Well educated, with a Masters in Public Affairs from WCU, Mindy’s career is her passion: helping girls build confidence and courage through the Girl Scouts.
Mindy is an enthusiastic runner, and inspiring woman, and a great person to be around! We’re so excited to have her as a returning Ambassador for the Asheville Marathon and Half!
Check out her great blog at HappySoulfulMindy and her most recent blog article regarding physical standards for girls vs. those for boys where she breaks it down and offers inspiration towards the end and a great workout regimen! Read it here at Men Do 60, Women Do… 18.
“If you just MOVE for 30 minutes a day (walk, bike, run, jog, walk-run-walk, lift, squat, whatever!), you will feel SO much better!!! Promise!”

What’s your favorite part of the Asheville Biltmore Marathon & Half? “My favorite part was running right by the Biltmore House. Even though I’m a Pass Holder and frequent it often, nothing beats RUNNING by it! Also crossing the finish line jamming to my favorite song by Old Crowe Medicine Show, ’Wagon Wheel.’ Something about that song pushes me hard.”
