With that in mind, we want to do all we can to help make those 26 miles and the .2 that follow as positive as possible.

To help in this, we are requesting experienced runners to register to act as official pacesetters for other runners on race day. Every runner wants to finish fast, but to do so we sometimes need to mentally slow down. And that, my friends, is what pacing is all about. So if you wish to help the cause of others, please let us know for your chance to pace at this 6th annual marathon event.

When you sign up to pace at the event, you can take the lead and help your fellow runners stay prudent on race day. We are looking for the following pace leaders for the 3:30, 3:40, and 3:50 pace groups. Join in on this historic event and enjoy all that this marathon has to offer by setting pace for your many, new friends and ‘followers’ at the 6th Annual Asheville Marathon and Half Marathon at Biltmore Estate.

To be considered, please send your contact information with links to the races that you have paced and ran in the past to jwsc223@uky.edu. Pacer availability is limited and is on a first come first serve basis pending the pacing requirements are met.
