Timing & Checkpoints

HALF MARATHON CHECKPOINTS (race begins at 7:30 am):

  • Half Marathon Participants must be at Checkpoint at Biltmore House located at mile 6 by 9:00 a.m.  The Half Marathon begins at 7:30 a.m, so you need to be at this 1st checkpoint by 9:00 a.m.
  • Half Marathon Participants must be at Checkpoint at Bearpin at 7.5 miles by 9:30 a.m.
  • Half Marathon Participants must be at Checkpoint at the Bridge located at mile 10 by 10:10 a.m.
  • There is 3.5 hr. time limit on the course. When you register on IMATHLETE, you confirm that you understand the time limit is 3.5 hrs.

MARATHON CHECKPOINTS (race begins at 7:30 am): 

  • Biltmore House at mile 6 – by 9am (1 1/2 hrs from race start)
  • Marathon Participants must be at Bearpin at 7.5 miles by 9:30 a.m.
  • Beat the Bridge at mile 10 (East to Westside) –  10am (2 1/2 hrs from race start)
  • Beat the Bridge at mile 17 (West back to Eastside) –  11:45am (4 hrs 15 min from race start)
  • Complete the race in 6 1/2 hrs (from race start) When you register for the marathon on IMATHLETE, you will confirm that you understand the course time limit is 6.5 hrs.

How to Attend

There is an entrance fee for spectators to get on to Biltmore Estate property, which is privately owned and not open to the general public. Spectator tickets can be purchased at the Race Expo and at the Group Sales office (first building on your left when entering Biltmore) on race day starting at 6am.

ONE DAY TICKETS:

  • $18 + tax for Biltmore Annual Passholders
  • $23 + tax for those without Annual Pass
    • Upgrade to house visit $29 + tax ($15 + tax for youth)
      • Upgrade to annual pass $119 + tax

TWO DAY TICKETS:

  • $28 + tax for Biltmore Annual Passholders
  • $33 + tax for those without Annual Pass

 

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Runners that want to visit the house on Friday or Monday will need to purchase a $33 + tax (two day ticket) plus the adult upgrade ticket $29 + tax
  • Runner + Spectator tickets can be upgraded for house visits on race day at one of the Guest Service kiosks.

~Runner + Spectator tickets can be upgraded for house visits on race day at one of the Guest Service kiosks on the Biltmore Estate – NOT at the Race Expo.  Upgrades can be purchased at the Group Sales Office on Biltmore on Friday, March 15 (with race/spectator ticket in hand) until the office closes at 5pm and from 6:00am-5pm on Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17. They can also be purchased at the main ticket center from 8:30am-6:30pm and Biltmore’s other guest service locations on property during Biltmore’s normal operating hours.

SPECTATORS TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON THE FOLLOWING DATES AND LOCATIONS

  • March 15, 2019 – Half Marathon Race Expo –  11am-7pm – at DoubleTree Hotel
  • March 16, 2019 – Half Marathon Race Day / Marathon Race Expo – 2-5pm
  • Also, spectator tickets may be purchased at the Group Sales office on the Estate, on both race mornings beginning at 6:00 a.m.
Spectator viewing is limited during the event to the Start/Finish, Antler Hill Village and Farm Trail area due to no vehicular traffic allowed on the course during the event.
