I’m taking on the cold weather in Boston this winter, but not to train for the marathon that our City is infamous for. This photo was taking on one of warmest days that we had experienced since Christmas. Temperatures had finally crawled out of the single digits and up to a warm and sunny 32 degrees. I’m hoping to experience weather just like this in March when I head to North Carolina for my 2nd half marathon on the beautiful Biltmore Estate. I lived in Raleigh, NC for a few years, but never had the pleasure of visiting Asheville. When I heard about this race, I knew I had to be there!
Originally from a suburb of Philadelphia I moved to South Florida in 1999. I began running a little over a year ago and run with The WeBe’s. I am the mom of 3 boys and a pediatric Physical Therapist. I enjoy outdoor activities with my most recent obsession being paddle-boarding. I’m always up for a new adventure. Excited to run the asheville half marathon.
Half marathon training in historical downtown Morristown, Tn!
I’m a recently transplanted Yankee who loves the upstate SC area. Thankfully when I moved down here, I found a group of friends (Steph Hance, Elizabeth Hotaling) who peer pressure me to do things like marathons! I love my Asheville Marathon training shirt and cannot wait to wake up every morning to train!!
I’ve been a runner since November 2012. I spent much of the previous 41 years avoiding running. Since I began, I’ve run several 5ks and 10ks, two 10 milers, and two half-marathons. I didn’t think I had a marathon in me, but when I found out there’s a marathon on Biltmore Estate I knew I wanted in! I’ve visited my brother and sister-in-law several times in Asheville and love it there, especially the Biltmore. Can’t wait for March 15 and my first marathon! This photo is me on my 15 mile run on January 31, through the park by my house here in MN – wish we had more snow, but it’s still quite pretty…
I’m so excited to return for my second year as an Asheville Marathon Ambassador (AMA)! It’s been a lot of fun to wear my AMA gear to runDisney events. I even wore it to meet The Oatmeal of “Beat the Blerch” fame. The Beat the Blerch Marathon was a high point of my 2014 race calendar!
Rocking my Asheville 2014 Marathon shirt in the polar plunge in West Lake Okoboji, Iowa January 24th. The water was a brisk 30 degrees!
