Limited Registration

The inaugural Asheville Marathon is limited to only 1,300 runners and is sold out. Approximately 1/3 of the race will be run on paved surfaces and the other 2/3 of the marathon will be on dirt and gravel roads. Sign up for our waitlist until January 31st, 2013 at www.imATHLETE.com. Runners on the waitlist will be notified by imathlete prior to February 2nd, 2013,  if they have been moved into the race.

Spectator Tickets

The spectator fee is an entrance fee for spectators to get on to Biltmore estate property. Biltmore is privately owned and not open to the general public. The spectator fee includes all day access to the Biltmore Estate and the House. (Regular daytime tickets are typically $59 per person.) Spectators are required to purchase a ticket to enter the estate and are available to purchase on the following dates and locations:

Purchasing Spectator Tickets

March 2nd, 2013 – Race Expo at DoubleTree Hotel –  10am-3pm ($32)

March 3rd, 2013 – Race Day – 6am – Group Sales Office (first building on the right when you enter the estate)

6am-9am ($32)

9am-1pm ($35)

After 1pm ($45)

Age Restrictions

Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their Registration Waiver for all events. We do not recommend that participants under 18 run in the full marathon event, minimum age for marathon is 16years old.

Refund Policy

We are sorry, but we do not offer refunds or transfers to future races. If you are injured or are unable to participate, please cancel your registration on  imATHLETE to give another runner who is on the waitlist an opportunity to race.

NOTE: You may not GIVE your entry to a friend to run in your place! Due to USATF rules and regulations, each participant must register themselves and sign their own waiver. Any runner who is participating with another participant’s bib number will be disqualified. Photo ID’s and bib numbers will be checked at the race expo as well as at the entrance to the estate on race morning. Any runner on the race course without a bib will be pulled from the race immediately.

Waitlist

The waitlist will close at midnight on January 31st, 2013. The waitlist lets you sign up for a chance to participate in the event and is a handy way to acquire a race entry after the event has sold out. Signing up for a Wait List does not guarantee you will get in the event. The terms for an event’s waitlist will be printed at the bottom of the first screen of imATHLETE registration only if an event is filled to capacity.

Please visit imATHLETE to join our waitlist. The waitlist will be capped at 100 participants at all times so continue to check back to see if there is an open spot. Participants on the waitlist will be notified via email by imATHLETE by February 3^rd, 2013 if they will get a spot into the race and will automatically be moved into the event. If you do not want your spot after you have moved into the event you may cancel your entry. (no refunds)

If you sign up on a waitlist, you will be notified if a slot in the race opens up for you. If you do NOT get into an event, you will not receive a refund for the waitlist slot, instead you will receive a Gift Code from imATHLETE that can be used to register for the 2014 Asheville Marathon. To sign up for the waitlist please visit our registration page at imATHLETE.
